Corsham

Photo of Corsham

Corsham is in the northwest of Wiltshire and is a medieval market town. It lies at the southwest extreme of the Cotswolds between Bath and Chippenham.

It is a great place to visit whatever your interests are as Corsham has small specialist shops, a thriving arts scene, picturesque cycling routes and walking routes starting from Corsham’s lively High Street. The historic High Street in Corsham has warm, cream-coloured cottages and imposing town houses which create a welcoming atmosphere. It is lined with a wealth of cafes, pubs and restaurants.

Corsham contains several noteworthy historic buildings such as the stately home of Corsham Court. You can also visit a unique 17th century complex of Almshouses and schoolrooms. For leisure purposes there are various footpaths linking the town with nearby villages and the historic parkland of Corsham Court.

Corsham was historically a centre for agriculture and wool industry. It now is a focus for quarrying Bath Stone.
