Our cycle holiday itinerays

Our cycle holidays are planned and checked and double checked to ensure we cater for every need and every eventuality.

Below is an example of the Pedal Classic cycling tour – our favourite!

Pedal classic cycling holiday - the itinerary

The itinerary for all our cycling holidays will remain flexible and we will assess after the first couple of days if we need to increase or decrease the daily mileage. There is always the opportunity to spend more time at one of the many points of interest or jump in the support vehicle should you simply want a rest or indeed add an extra 20 miles at the beginning or end of the days cycling!

Day 1, We will fit you with the bikes and ensure you are ready to cycle on the “wrong side” of the road! You will be able to take in some of the amazing historical and educational sites of Oxford during a gentle cycle around the surrounding area before heading off into the countryside, including Winston Churchill’s Blenheim Palace and on to the first nights accommodation.

Day 2, The cycling tour visits Stratford-upon-Avon, the birthplace of Shakespeare, and home to the Royal Shakespeare Company and its theatre. We are more than happy to book tickets for the evening’s Shakespeare performance – but hurry as tickets sell very fast.

Day 3, the cycling tour then winds its way through the rolling hills and majestic countryside of the Cotswolds, taking in some of the most well known towns and villages including Stow-on-the Wold, Bourton-on-the-Water and The Slaughters. Day three ends at the stunning town of Burford.

Day 4, we head through the Cotswolds to the beautiful Cotswold town of Bibury. Day 4 is generally a slower day, of less than 20 miles which gives ample time fore some R+R should this be required.

Day 5, stopping at various places including: Prince Charles’ organic farm at Highgrove, the idyllic villages of the South Cotswolds, and finally, Tetbury.

Day 6, the cycling tour will take you to the Roman city of Bath. In the morning we will ride into Bath (mainly downhill!) and take a full tour of the Roman Baths and other historic sites in the city. Afterwards we’ll take the uphill journey to the sixth night’s accommodation.

Day 7, We will visit the picturesque towns of Corsham and the idyllic Lacock and then cycle towards the iconic Stonehenge. (We do not ride all the way to Stonehenge as the roads are fast and dangerous). Following the visit to Stonehenge we will return to Oxford where the cycling tour will end.
