New! Self-guided cycle tours

Pedal England has been offering award-winning guided bike tours in England for the last 10 years and new for 2016 are our self-guide cycle tours.

Our handpicked self-guide tours visit iconic places surrounding the gently rolling and beautiful Cotswold region, including the inspirational city of Oxford, the birthplaces of Winston Churchill and Shakespeare, picturesque chocolate-box villages and peaceful gardens.

There are two lengths of self-guided cycle tour:

  • 5-day self-guided tour – Oxford, Blenheim Palace, Stratford-upon-Avon, and the Cotswolds
  • 8-day self-guided tour – As for the 5-day tour, but then join up with our guided tour group to make new friends and cycle on together to two World Heritage Sites: the Roman spa town of Bath, and Stonehenge.

All self-guided tours come complete with GPS navigation systems, bikes from Giant and Ridgeback, helmets, maps and panniers. Luggage is transported between accommodation and our tours also come with full mechanical support which is always available.

The terrain is gently rolling and an averagely fit person will enjoy the long flats and a few short, sharp inclines. The routes are primarily on the public roads, however we ensure we pick the smallest and safest roads with limited traffic.

At Pedal England, we take time to carefully select comfortable, quality hotels and with two levels of accommodation – Prestige and Country – so there is always a Pedal England cycle tour for your budget.

Prestige Hotels

Guests will be able relax and unwind in these truly luxurious hotels in stunning locations. And you won’t have to organize anything, either – dinner, bed and breakfast are all included in the price. Hotels in our Prestige tours are worthy Conde Naste Johansens winners; recognizing the finest standards in luxury independent accommodation.

Prestige hotels offer exceptional dining with tempting and diverse menus. The restaurants prepare freshly cooked regional delicacies as well as culinary classics. All the rooms are elegantly furnished to the highest standards, these are hotels combining traditional English values with the needs of the modern traveller.

Country Hotels

These smaller hotels, guest houses and pubs reflect the heritage of England. Full of character and history, every stop on your tour will be unique and special. These quintessentially English lodgings are situated in lovely rural locations which means glorious views from your bedroom window and breakfast table. Cosy and with informal dining, these country hotels are friendly and relaxed. They are also outstanding value, providing you with accommodation that is clean, comfortable and full of charm.
