Pedal Expert is suitable for experienced road cyclists and those who just want to push themselves. The Pedal Expert tour covers a maximum of 100 kilometers (66 miles) each day of classic terrain – starting north of Stonehenge on day one after a two-hour stop at the world heritage site, followed by a leisurely 60k ride to the first night’s accommodation.
On the second day, the tour will take you through the rolling Cotswold countryside to the Roman city of Bath. A full tour of the Roman Baths and other historic sites precedes lunch, which is followed by a mainly uphill ride to the second night’s accommodation.
On day three we head off from the beautiful Cotswold town of Tetbury, stopping for a coffee at Prince Charles’ organic farm at Highgrove. The tour then winds its way through the rolling hills and majestic countryside of the Cotswolds with lunch at Sudeley Castle, the home of Katherine Parr, wife of Henry VIII. Day three ends at the stunning town Moreton-in-Marsh.
Day four visits Stratford-upon-Avon, the birthplace of Shakespeare, and home to the Royal Shakespeare Company and its theatre. Bookings for evening Shakespeare performances can be arranged in advance. The tour then returns to the town of Moreton-in-Marsh in the evening.
The fifth and final day takes in Blenheim Palace, the majestic birthplace of Sir Winston Churchill and home to the Duke of Marlborough, and finishes in the world’s most famous University town - Oxford. On our arrival to Oxford a walking tour of the city is followed by transport to Oxford train station and marks the end of the tour. Should accommodation be required in Oxford then this can be arranged.
