We visit Windsor Castle, home to the Queen and Windsor Great Park. Here we will fit you with your bikes and ensure you are ready to cycle on the “wrong side” of the road! We walk from Windsor Great Park to the centre of Windsor before taking the bus to your hotel in Moreton-in-Marsh in the Cotswolds to round off a nice, gentle start to your holiday.

We cycle or bus from Moreton-in-Marsh through the beautiful Cotswolds to the country home of Winston Churchill, Blenheim Palace, World Heritage Site. The morning is a downhill ride of approx. 20 miles, through gently rolling countryside. If you’re on foot or would like to take a break from cycling, you can hop on our support vehicle and we’ll take you to Woodstock. We’ll drop you at the back gate of Blenheim place to have a 4-mile hike through the beautiful grounds, then to tea in the beautiful village of Churchill and back to Moreton-in-Marsh.

We visit Stratford-upon-Avon, the birthplace of Shakespeare, and home to the Royal Shakespeare Company and its theatre. If you would like to see a production at the RSC we can organise this for you (bookings need to be made in advance however). On the way to Stratford the bus will stop off at the quaint village of Chipping Campden. We will then go on foot towards the beautiful American-inspired gardens at Hidcote before walking down a disused railway line right into the heart of Stratford itself. The afternoon is taken at your leisure, with further biking or hiking options available.

The tour then winds its way through the majestic countryside of the Cotswolds, taking in some of the most well known towns and villages including Bourton-on-the-Water and The Slaughters to begin the day. For lunch we stop at the trout farm in Bibury. From the Barringtons we will walk along the Windrush Valley and on to Burford, and the beautiful Lamb Hotel. We walk first today, through the beautiful Cotswold landscape and the villages of Upper and Lower Slaughter.

We head through the Cotswolds to the beautiful Cotswold town of Bampton, home to the hit show Downton Abbey (it is the village where all the outside filming is completed) then on to the home of William Morris, founder of the Arts and Crafts movement, where we will stop for lunch. We take all guests to Oxford by bus in the afternoon, giving time for a beautiful walk around Port Meadow, given to the people in Oxford in the 11th Century, and look round the historical university town. The tour ends in Oxford, where there is easy access to London via Oxford Train Station. We estimate the tour ends between 5pm and 6pm.
