Packing list

We’ve put together a list of essentials for your cycling tour. Don’t forget that you’ll be active for a large part of each day so comfortable clothing is vital. We recommend layers for cycling in England’s changeable climate, and breathable fabrics will add to your comfort.

In the evenings casual dress is fine for all venues on our tours. Casual attire for women can be a skirt, dress or smart trousers. Men aren’t expected to wear suits – something like a pair of khakis and a polo shirt will be fine, even jeans (as long as they aren’t ripped or scruffy) are good.

Even in England sun burn can really ruin a holiday! When you’re outdoors all day it’s important to protect yourself. So, don’t forget to pack sunscreen and, although we provide bike helmets, a hat might be handy for the day excursions.

  • Cycling shorts
  • A pair of long cycling pants
  • A number of cycling tops, t-shirts etc
  • Cycling socks / normal socks
  • Cycling gloves
  • Pedals and cycling shoes (optional)
  • Waterproof cycling jacket
  • Wind-proof cycling jacket
  • Sunglasses
  • All toiletries, including sun screen
  • Small rucksack / day carry bag (can be shared between two)
  • Casual dress for evening dining
  • Plugs and adaptors for charging mobile phones / smartphones / lap-top computers

Look out for the emails prior to your trip from the Pedal team. We’ll make sure you’re all ready for your cycle tour, and that we know when and where you’re arriving so we can meet you. If you’re ever in doubt – just call or email us.
